Privacy

The Default privacy access settings is now available with the Latest multiply Update. With four options to choose from:
  1. Everyone (even people logged out)
  2. My Network
  3. Contacts
  4. Individuals (selected)
This setting will specify the default value of the "Access" setting; you will still be able to change it every time you post content to Multiply.

You can change your settings by:
  1. Clicking settings (http://multiply.com/setup)
  2. Select Posting Options (http://multiply.com/setup/advanced-posting)

Multimedia Replies

Now, you can add multimedia replies on any post or threads here in multiply. You may do so by clicking  the link in the reply part of the post.

Note that the issue of spammers and unwanted video/audio replies are almost similar to the glitter images issue on the guestbook. So watch out for those annoying posters and just follow the regular delete strategy and report users after blocking them from your site.

On the videos page are also great new features. Like the:
  • New Volume Contol
  • The Full Screen View!!
  • The Video Scroll Feature (up and down arrow)
There's also the Record Video option in the video upload page.

Global Navigation Links

Of course, any user will immediately notice the new Global navigation links which from three links is now consist of four links which are:
  • Inbox (My Multiply)
  • My Site
  • Contacts (Network)
  • Groups (Network)
Notice that the Contacts and the Groups are already divided and are given their own pages respectively.

Also see that icons are smaller and fonts are different.

Message Board

The message board has now more features than ever. First is the Tools Column (in the right rail, below the message summary). It contains other helpful links such as the Import Tools which is now composed of as many as sixteen (16) partner sites which you can import your files from..

Contacts can also be imported from nine (9) different sites!

Another thing is in the Custom Filter options which now has default values listed below:

Personal Messages
Posted by Me
Subscribed
Unread from Close
Unread from Contacts

There are a few filters that are mostly awaited by multiply users.

Clicking Personal Messages allows you to see the PMs sent or received without the complexity of ticking other options in the Filter settings.

Selecting the Subscribe option opens the page on your subscriptions and a click on the envelope icon immediately unsubscribes you from the particular post (without the need to refresh the browser).

Themes

Additional Themes are added and brought back again.

With the Update of themes also comes the location change of the Customize Site (Customize My Site) and Promot My Site (for Badges) Links, now, located at the Right Rail, together with the other personal links just below the headshot.

Another change that others might not seem to notice is the ability of the user to see the "Online" status which were then only available to other users viewing your page. Now, you yourself can see that status..

So far, the only thing that left the previous multiply version was the Mini Profile Mouse-overs. But there's a newer version of that. Try clicking a headshot and you'll see.

Links

But there's more! Are you one of those still sticking to the idea of Tags for your Recipes and Markets? Not anymore!! Because the Recipes and Market sections are BACK!! Yes. They're available again.

Recipes and marketplace items are hidden by default, but can be enabled below. If you have already posted a recipe or marketplace item, they will always be available.

For those who don't have one yet, just compose your first entries now to be able to put that on your pages!

Market: http://username.multiply.com/market/compose

oh this is great
what wonderful new ideas' they have added so many new things
while I am here how come java script isn't allowed?
jnamakulit wrote on Dec 7, '07
it's for security reasons.. imagine, with the present settings, other users are still bothered with people posting unwanted HTML codes on their posts..

Javascripts can do more than that, can ruin the whole page with just little codes..

Really
wow,I had no idea what so ever
I appreciate your telling me this and many other things

I like most of the changes..

The only change I'm not thrilled with is the "Online Status." Over yonder I was always listed as "Offline" regardless of whether I was or not. I'd like to have that option again. Maybe some day.

Other than that, I'm fairly happy with he updates.
