This is a neat idea, so I tried it. I do have to experiment haha.
I would have to tweak something (not sure what) as it overlapped my site title when I hovered for it.
The only other thing that I thought was weird is that my nav bar (home, blog, etc) ... the words squished together and partially overlapped. hmmmmm
So I took it back off, but I liked the look of this otherwise.
